Thelma’s work upon earth is finally fulfilled,
Her once, loving and busy hands are now stilled.
She first gave her hand in marriage years ago,
Soon after, she shared them with five babies in tow.

With loving hands she held her babies tight,
While comforting them through day and night.
Her hands dried away all of her children’s tears,
As she soothed away all of their childhood fears.

Her gentle hands once combed her three son’s hair,
And brushed her two daughter’s curls with care.
Her hands sometimes even paddled a likely spot
Even if the children thought they needed it or not.

She went hand and hand with her husband many years
Laughing in happy times and in sad times shared tears
Over time, her hands became aged and gave her pain
But the labored work of her hands were never in vain.

God took her hand and welcomed her to his home above
Where she’ll prepare a place to greet her family with love.
