LIFE IS LIKENED TO A ROSE

Lois Caywood Guffy

When a tiny rosebud begins to form
It represents a new life waiting to be born

When the first petal begins to appear
it represents a birth being very near

When the petals begin to open for display
It represents our birth and growth day by day

When the petals are completely unfurled
It represents our maturity to face the world

When the petals begin to fall one by one
It represents our work on earth is nearly done

When the last rose petal withers and does fall
It represents our life's end to meet the master's call

The beauty is gone and memories once held so dear
Promises us a new cycle of life to return next year.
